Once one of the more decrepit casinos in downtown Las Vegas, Fitzgeralds now offers a more refurbished resort. The new Fitzgeralds even won a "Governor's Conference Award" for redesign. At 34 stories high, the resort is downtown Las Vegas' tallest hotel/casino, with 624 deluxe rooms and 14 suites to choose from. All rooms include electronic locks, complimentary in-room safes, 25" televisions with Hollywood pay movies and cable channels, irons and ironing boards, spacious baths, computer ports, and 24-hour security. The casino offers one of the largest selections of table games in downtown Las Vegas, with a total of 23 different games, including Craps, Black Jack, Three Card poker, Let It Ride, Roulette, and more. There also are 1,000 slot machines to choose from, including MegaBucks, Wheel of Fortune, Video poker, Triple Play Video poker, Nickelmania, Odyssey, Reel Deal Poker, Monopoly, Elvis slots and many more. Don't forget to check out the Nickel Zone, with more than 120 nickel machines located on the first floor.
Dining includes a selection of five different restaurants, ranging from a burger at McDonald's to fine dining at Limerick's Steakhouse. Located directly on Fremont Street, the Fremont Street Experience laser light show takes place right outside the resort's front door. Moreover, the second floor of Fitzgeralds is one of the best places to see the show (try to get to the balcony).
